We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Emergency department at GR Baker Memorial Hospital.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and nursing practice activities within the framework of quality management and in accordance with the BCCNM Standards for Nursing practice and Northern Health Mission, Vision and Values statement.
- Participate in the Northern Health Regional Emergency Department Education Program (REDEP), which combines a standardized, evidence-informed online curriculum with a skills/simulation lab and clinical practicum to prepare registered nurses to provide safe and competent emergency nursing care.
- Upon completion of the REDEP education, learners will transition into the Northern Health Critical Care Program- High Acuity Unit (NHCCP-HAU), where they will continue to develop their skills and knowledge in a high-acuity setting.
- Collaborate with the health care team to provide comprehensive patient care and support.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
- Ability to promote safe, competent, patient care.
- Ability to recognize and intervene appropriately in an emergency situation.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to operate related equipment, including computer software such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the health care team.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
