Position Overview

As a Meat Processing Specialist at Conestoga Meat Packers Ltd, you will be responsible for various tasks associated with the slaughtering and processing of livestock. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months in a similar role
Work Environment

The work setting is primarily within slaughterhouses and meat processing facilities. Employees can expect a noisy atmosphere with odours and cold/refrigerated conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Slaughter livestock and carefully remove viscera and other inedible components from carcasses.
  • Efficiently remove bones from meat products.
Safety and Security

All candidates must undergo a criminal record check as part of the hiring process.

Transportation

Having own transportation is necessary for commuting to the work site.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capable of handling heavy loads and engaging in physically demanding work.
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail are essential.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is required.
Weight Handling

Must be able to lift and carry weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
