Communications Advisor

We are seeking a Communications Advisor to join our team in Edmonton. As a key member of our Communications and Public Engagement team, you will play a critical role in planning and executing strategic communications initiatives that engage diverse audiences and promote the Government of Alberta's priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans and public engagement materials
  • Plan, coordinate, write, and edit communications materials, including news releases, speeches, reports, and social media posts
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and implement communications strategies
  • Employ creativity and innovation to tackle complex projects and challenges
  • Organize and execute communications events and media availabilities

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in communications, public relations, journalism, English, or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of directly related communications or correspondence experience
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
