About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Child and Youth Worker to join our team at Stevenson Waplak and Associates. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing support and guidance to children and youth in a hospital/medical facility or clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview and Assessment: Conduct thorough interviews with children and youth to assess their adjustment problems and develop effective support plans.
  • Pre-Sentence Reports: Prepare comprehensive pre-sentence reports for offenders, highlighting their strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Supervision and Support: Supervise support staff and provide guidance and training to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality support to children and youth.
  • Administrative and Office Activities: Manage administrative tasks and maintain accurate records to ensure efficient program delivery.
  • Research and Evaluation: Conduct social research and maintain program statistics to inform evaluation and research initiatives.
  • Life Skills Workshops: Implement life skills workshops to support children and youth in developing essential skills for success.
  • Counselling and Support: Provide individual and group counselling sessions to support children and youth in achieving their goals.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic.
  • Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
