Join Sun Life Financial as a Senior Principal Software Engineer and lead the design and development of innovative solutions for our Group Retirement Services business. As a key member of our engineering team, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop large-scale, multi-tier distributed software systems for investment platforms and back-office systems.
- Collaborate with vendors and build solutions involving vendor applications.
- Provide technical guidance to lead software engineers and ensure good design and development practices are applied.
- Develop and maintain living technical design artifacts describing application technical functionality, solution designs, data models, interfaces, and integrations.
- Coach and lead agile teams to ensure alignment with the Group Retirement Services roadmap and overall architectural directions.
Requirements:
- BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
- 7+ years of experience in designing and delivering solutions for investment market and wealth-based platforms, back-office systems, and integrating vendor technologies.
- Experience with REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, microservices, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines, containerization using Docker/Kubernetes, and system integrations.
- Understanding of security concepts (SAML, JWT, Single Sign-on).
- Experience in developing and designing Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript applications, and integrating AI/ML and API technologies.
