We are looking for a Power Systems Engineer to play a crucial role in our organization. The Power Systems Engineer will be tasked with delivering technical guidance and supervision throughout the planning, development, execution, and commissioning phases of facility enhancements. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the technical and quality standards, as well as the regulatory codes relevant to the discipline involved in the formulation and assessment of operational procedures. The engineer is expected to assist in the project development stage by evaluating design submissions from a feasibility and implementation perspective. A strong collaborative spirit is essential for this position, along with a solid grasp of Nuclear power plant functionalities, including familiarity with the operational and maintenance aspects of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee projects focusing on safety, quality, efficiency, asset dependability, process enhancement, cost savings, and other business improvement goals.
- Manage projects from initial concept and scope definition through design, procurement, construction/installation, and commissioning.
- Provide training in operation, setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, ensuring adherence to established policies and quality standards.
- Leverage your expertise in Electrical Hardware, Automation Systems, and Process Control Systems.
- Assist in the planning, prioritization, and evaluation of technical strategies for engineering/maintenance of production and facility equipment, including the formulation of project plans, timelines, budgets, and proposals.
- Develop schedules and methods for service delivery; identify resource requirements; assess needs, allocate resources accordingly, and effectively communicate action plans/repairs.
- Contribute to the formulation of control policies and procedures and suggest modifications and enhancements to existing standards and practices.
- Analyze and interpret all project-related documentation (electrical, mechanical, architectural, etc.) to accurately assess all controls and instrumentation scope items included in the bid package.
- Generate precise control system and control panel design submissions and timelines.
- Accurately assess all material and labor needs associated with the project.
- Review and evaluate all estimates with the Senior Engineering Manager for precision, value analysis, and suitable profit margins.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks in line with deadline requirements.
- Collaborate with Clients, Senior Engineers, Consulting Engineers, Pre-Construction, and Contract Managers to prepare an accurate design proposal or timeline.
- Effectively plan and coordinate on-site engineering and construction activities for designated projects to ensure that objectives are met within specified time frames and budget constraints.
- Strong knowledge of codes and standards.
- Experience with Engineering and Project Change Control Systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Requires a solid understanding of physics, chemistry, metallurgy, mathematics, electricity, engineering, and economics to comprehend the facility's operations.
- Strong technical writing skills for drafting specifications, work instructions, asset management documents, and planning documents.
- Proven ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Capable of proposing recommendations and solutions to technical challenges both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to effectively interface with Plant Operations, Plant Engineering, Maintenance, other technical personnel, Regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to foster positive interactions with others by building trust, mutual respect, and collaborative working relationships.
- Requires experience in problem-solving, providing guidance, initiating developmental studies, and making recommendations during the design, commissioning, and operation of a nuclear facility.
- Evaluate components or materials, and conduct economic studies and evaluations related to the design, commissioning, and operation of a nuclear facility while ensuring safety at all times.
