Job Summary:
Dufferin Child & Family Services is a multi-service agency providing Child and Youth Mental Health, Child Protection and Developmental Support. We are seeking a skilled Respite Worker to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide Support and Care: Work with children, youth, and adults with exceptionalities, providing support in their homes and the community.
- Collaborate with Families and Teams: Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
- Assist with Daily Living Tasks: Assist with personal care, feeding, toileting, and other daily living tasks as needed.
- Support Personal Goals and Outcomes: Support individuals in identifying, working towards, and achieving their personal goals and outcomes.
- Plan and Execute Activities: Plan and execute activities that are enjoyable and engaging for our clients.
- Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues, using alternative communication systems and techniques as needed.
- Maintain Confidentiality and Respect: Maintain confidentiality and respect for all clients, their families, and their personal information.
- Education and Experience: Diploma or degree in Human Services (ECE, PSW, DSW, CYW, etc.) or equivalent experience working with children with special needs.
- Experience Working with Exceptionalities: Minimum of 1 year experience working with children, youth, and adults with exceptionalities.
- Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of autism and developmental disabilities, ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs, and proficiency in PC computer environment, MS Office, and other software.
- Certifications and Clearances: Valid Ontario Driver's License (Class G or G2), access to a reliable vehicle and car insurance, and a clear vulnerable sector, criminal record check.
- Competitive Salary: $25.00-$28.00 per hour.
- Flexible Scheduling: Casual part-time schedule with weekday and weekend availability required.
