Your responsibilities will include:
  1. Analyzing installation schematics, qualification test data, and reports.
  2. Facilitating change management through research, concept development, design reviews, trade studies, impact assessments, and implementation.
  3. Ensuring compliance with 14CFR Part 25, Transport Canada, and EASA aircraft regulations.
  4. Investigating specifications for component selection.
  5. Collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to assist production and/or flight test personnel in troubleshooting and resolving build and test challenges.
  6. Coordinating extensively with suppliers and internal support teams.
  7. Participating in a collaborative team environment.
  8. With guidance, developing system schematics, requirements documents, system descriptions, interface documents, wiring diagrams, certification plans, issue papers, functional test requirements, test plans, test reports, and design compliance reports for new and/or upgraded aircraft systems.
Ideal qualifications:
  1. A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Experience in electrical or avionics system design or a related area (preferred).
  3. A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical or avionics system design or a related field.
  4. Familiarity with applicable regulatory certification standards (FAA, EASA, TCCA) is advantageous.
  5. Knowledge of Cybersecurity and System Safety aspects of certification is a plus.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  7. Training in Engineering Design for Six Sigma or Six Sigma Process is beneficial.
  8. Understanding of electrical, avionics, and wire harness design guidelines for CFR Part 25 aircraft is preferred.
  9. A self-starter capable of breaking down moderately complex projects into manageable tasks and processes.
  10. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  11. Organizational skills to work effectively with diverse cross-functional teams while maintaining a positive attitude.
