About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at BC Hydro. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems and equipment for our power generation and transmission facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop mechanical systems and equipment, including pumps, turbines, and other mechanical components, to meet the needs of our power generation and transmission facilities.
  • Project Management: Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to ensure that mechanical systems and equipment are properly integrated and maintained.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues and problems, using your technical expertise and knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the power generation and transmission industry.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association, or eligibility for registration.
