We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse, Medicine - PICC to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Registered Nurse, Medicine - PICC, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in an acute medical unit or within an outpatient intravenous (IV) setting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) insertions to establish and/or maintain intravenous therapy.
- Assess patients receiving IV therapy and collect information from a variety of sources using skills of observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment.
- Make a nursing diagnosis of the patient's condition and determine whether the condition can be improved or resolved by an appropriate nursing intervention.
- Plan, perform, and evaluate nursing interventions and care.
- Collaborate with patients and their families/care givers in developing the care plan and encourage family participation in the development, implementation, and ongoing modification of the care plan.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Advanced proficiencies in peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) insertions.
- Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes as required.
