About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Team Member to join our team at Market Fresh. As a key member of our bakery team, you will be responsible for preparing and baking a variety of sweet and savory goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards by inspecting kitchen and food service areas.
  • Training and Development: Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and oversee the training of new team members.
  • Customer Service: Prepare special orders and ensure that customer needs are met.
  • Supervision: Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff, and oversee the sales and merchandising of baked goods.
  • Maintenance and Organization: Organize and maintain inventory, and operate machinery as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail, and ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Personal Qualities: Accurate, client-focused, excellent oral communication skills, judgement, reliability, and a team player attitude.
