We are seeking an exceptional Director to join our dynamic and dedicated team at BC Cancer. As a visionary leader with a strong clinical background, preferably in nursing, you will be responsible for guiding high-performing teams and advancing cancer care.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the delivery of services in a co-leadership partnership with Medical Directors to ensure culturally safe, anti-racist, trauma-informed patient and family-centered, evidence-based, best practice clinical care.
- Develop strategic plans, goals, and annual objectives in collaboration with physician partners, providing leadership and support to staff in developing individual program plans.
- Ensure continuous improvement and redesign for optimizing resources and contributing to a sustainable healthcare system.
- Oversee and provide leadership on systems and processes to support the development and management of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Work closely with regional and provincial leaders on ministerial initiatives to ensure alignment of provincial standards and program and/or service mandates.
- A Master's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Nursing, Health Care Administration, or Business Administration, and a minimum of ten (10) years recent related experience, including experience in a senior administrative position within a healthcare organization.
- Knowledge of current and future healthcare issues, excellent time management skills, effective fiscal and financial management skills, and proven ability to negotiate and mediate resolutions to complex situations.
- Ability to lead people, manage change, develop strategy, and execute on plans, as well as demonstrate ability to function effectively in a highly dynamic environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including the ability to make effective presentations to groups.
- Working knowledge of applicable regulations, legislation, and collective agreements, as well as proficiency in the use of personal computers and applicable software applications.
- Understanding of various reports, including the Truth & Reconciliation Commission's 94 Calls to Action, In Plain Sight Report, BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act, and how they intersect across the healthcare system.
- Model and support full team commitment to Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism, demonstrating humility and heart-led leadership, and commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
