Job Title: Gen Ledger Accounting Spec

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and thorough general ledger maintenance, including various reports. The successful candidate will analyze and process journal entries and reconciliations, review standard month-end entries, and communicate and document accounting procedures for specialized accounting and financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and modify reports to meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with users to deliver solutions for enhancements, updates, and testing.
  • Administer access to reporting tools and interfaces with F&A systems and IT on production issues.
  • Review data and provide feedback to management, F&A Systems, and project team.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Analyze variances and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Contribute to department cross-training and critical functions as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or International equivalent - An asset but not a requirement.
  • Knowledge of internal systems and tools.
  • Experience creating and generating reports using Microsoft products or equivalent software.
  • Knowledge of general accounting and/or finance processes.
