Position Overview

Are you passionate about providing quality nursing care? We are looking for a committed Licensed Practical Nurse who is eager to deliver compassionate care to patients at BCJobs.

The role involves working within a client and family-centered care framework, adhering to the standards and ethical guidelines set forth by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor or their delegate, the Licensed Practical Nurse collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to implement the Nursing Process, conduct assessments, plan and deliver nursing care, and may guide other staff members.

The LPN operates in accordance with the competencies and standards outlined by BCCNM, while also adhering to organizational policies and unit-specific protocols.

The LPN will assist clients and their families in achieving and maintaining optimal health through the following responsibilities:

Work Schedule:

Evening and Night shifts, with hours from 15:00 to 23:00 and 19:00 to 07:00 (Rotating)

Qualifications
  • Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of recent, relevant experience in acute care or residential settings.
Skills and Competencies
  • Proven knowledge and skills in a specific clinical specialty or patient demographic, such as acute care, gerontology, or palliative care.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to delegate care and share expertise with the multidisciplinary team, clients, and their families.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Capability to build and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Skill in observing and identifying changes in clients' conditions.
  • Proficient in planning, organizing, and prioritizing care; capable of initiating and executing care plans.
  • Familiarity with operating relevant equipment and proficiency in necessary computer applications.
  • Physical capability to fulfill the duties of the position.
