Role Requirements:

We are seeking a qualified Lead Tax Strategy Manager with at least 10 years of post-certification public practice experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, manage, and execute client engagements in accordance with professional standards and firm policies.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, actively participating in clients' strategic decision-making processes.
  • Prepare and review corporate tax submissions, including comprehensive tax planning.
  • Encourage a collaborative, innovative, and team-oriented environment.
  • Conduct thorough research on technical matters pertinent to client scenarios.

Essential Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of US corporate federal and state tax regulations, particularly regarding Forms 1120 and 1120F.
  • Familiarity with international tax reporting requirements, including forms such as 5472, 5471, 8865, 8858, 8992, and 8993.
  • Understanding of IRS regulations concerning Controlled Foreign Corporations, Subpart F, GILTI rules, and Section 956.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Canada-US tax treaty provisions related to permanent establishment and business profits analysis.
  • Awareness of State Nexus Rules and the implications of the Wayfair case.
  • Solid foundation in Accounting for Income Taxes.
  • Proficient in US partnership regulations and the preparation of Form 1065 and K-1s.

Professional Qualifications:

  • CPA designation is mandatory.
  • A Master's degree in US Taxation is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in tax compliance and planning is essential.
  • Proficiency in reviewing corporate and partnership tax returns.
  • Exceptional client service capabilities.
  • Familiarity with CCH Axcess, BNA tax research software, CaseWare, Xero Practice Management, and MS Office.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality service and value to clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management abilities.
  • Capacity to build and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
