Aquaculture Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Aquaculture Manager to join our team at Golden Eagle Sable Fish Limited. As an Aquaculture Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our fish farm, ensuring the health and well-being of our fish stock, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties
  • Design and construct pens, floating stations, and collector strings or fences for our sea farms
  • Conduct regular inspections of our sea farm operations using scuba diving equipment
  • Coordinate the selection and maintenance of brood stock to ensure the health and productivity of our fish stock
  • Collect and record data on fish growth, health, and productivity
  • Determine food requirements and structure feeding regimes to optimize fish growth and health
  • Establish inventory and quality control methods to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety
  • Establish marketing programs to promote our fish products
  • Identify diseases or parasites and develop strategies to prevent and control them
  • Maintain accurate financial records and manage budgets to ensure the financial sustainability of our fish farm
  • Manage and train aquaculture and fish hatchery support workers and supervise technicians and technologists
  • Monitor the environment and maintain optimum conditions for fish growth and health
  • Operate and maintain harvesting and cultivating equipment to ensure efficient and effective fish production
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Experience an asset
  • Language: English
  • Work hours: 40 hours per week
