We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Full Time Intervenor to join our team at Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada. As an Intervenor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are living with dual sensory impairment, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting Daily Living: Assist individuals with daily tasks, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and house cleaning, to promote independence and confidence.
- Communication Support: Use effective communication techniques to relay information and facilitate interaction between individuals and their environments.
- Empowerment and Goal Setting: Work with individuals to develop and achieve personal goals, promoting empowerment and self-advocacy.
- Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individual progress and support plans.
- Education and Training: Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
- Experience: Proven experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors, as well as those with mental health conditions.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 35-50 lbs on an occasional basis and work in a variety of environments, including indoors and outdoors.
- Competitive Compensation: A competitive wage starting at $23.03/hour.
