The Market Risk Analyst plays a crucial role in evaluating and overseeing the market risk associated with the investment portfolio. The analyst is responsible for ensuring the precision of daily risk calculations and the timely production of market risk measurement reports. Additionally, the analyst collaborates with the manager to implement effective tools for the team and participates in various team initiatives.

As a Market Risk Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating and analyzing risk reports tailored for investment teams
  • Conducting ad hoc analyses for investment teams and management regarding specific assets or during significant market fluctuations
  • Ensuring the quality of report production, confirming that outputs are timely and accurate
  • Providing specialized knowledge in quantitative analysis and research
  • Implementing risk measurement frameworks by validating methodologies and suggesting enhancements
  • Creating tools to assist investment teams and management
  • Staying informed about developments and trends in financial markets

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in financial engineering or a related discipline
  • Professional certification (PRM, FRM, CFA)
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Experience within a financial services environment
  • Bilingual: English and French
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Collaborative mindset
  • High proficiency in data querying tools such as SQL
  • Programming expertise (primarily in MATLAB)
  • Familiarity with market risk measurement frameworks
  • Self-sufficiency
