Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Bus Driver to join our team at Student Transportation of Canada. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Safety: Report delays, mechanical problems, and accidents to dispatchers or supervisors.
  • Passenger Management: Direct passengers during emergency evacuation procedures and ensure children's safety when boarding and leaving buses and crossing streets while the bus is stopped.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
  • Communication: Communicate with passengers, dispatchers, or other drivers using two-way radio systems.
  • Logistics: Complete logbooks and reports, and ensure all necessary documents are up to date.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid driver's license, driver's abstract, and a clean driving record.
  • Education and Training: Will train, but a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Personal Qualities: Flexibility, good judgment, reliability, and a team player attitude.
Work Environment

This is a part-time position with a variable schedule, requiring 15 to 25 hours of work per week. The language of work is English or French, and the work environment is a school bus.
