Accounts Receivable Analyst Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions by serving as a liaison between Accounts Receivable and Accounting departments. This position involves researching and analyzing transactions to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cash Application and Deduction Management: Manage cash application and deduction processes for specific customers, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • AR Adjustments: Research, review, and process AR adjustments to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Customer Rebates: Collaborate with Sales, Trade Marketing, and Pricing Group to validate customer rebates and ensure accurate accounting.
  • Documentation: Maintain supporting documentation for all adjustments and offsets to ensure transparency and compliance.
  • Communication: Work closely with the Credit Team to share relevant customer payment, deduction, and credit balance information.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal control policies and procedures, as well as audit requirements.
  • Special Projects: Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the AR Manager.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize Data Warehouse to create and run reports to support AR business needs.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 3-5 years of Accounts Receivable experience, preferably in a consumer products company.
  • Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Skills: Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and experience working with an ERP system. Experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a positive team player attitude.
