About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at Lethbridge School Division. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, including those with behavioral challenges and/or complex physical disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with academic tasks and adapt to their individual needs
  • Implement strategies to support socially appropriate behaviors and monitor progress
  • Attend to physical and medical needs of students, as required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized programs
  • Ensure student safety at all times and implement Positive Behavior Support Plans
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or General Educational Development (GED) diploma
  • Proof of high school or post-secondary equivalencies, if obtained outside of Canada
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in a related field, such as Educational Assistant or Early Childhood Education
  • Experience working with students with exceptionalities, an asset
Working Conditions

As an Educational Assistant Substitute, you will work on an on-call basis, with varying hours from Monday to Friday. You will be required to provide personal care, lifting, and toileting support for students, as needed.
