Job Overview:
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Supervisor, this role is pivotal in ensuring that the production operations adhere to exceptional food safety protocols and quality benchmarks. This encompasses the entire process from the intake of raw materials to the processing and distribution of finished goods.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare samples, media, and buffers essential for daily evaluations.
- Conduct chemical and microbiological assessments of dairy products.
- Generate test outcomes with a high degree of precision and dependability.
- Perform product swabbing and environmental sampling.
- Compile reports and enter data into computer systems to maintain accurate records.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is well-maintained and uphold cleanliness standards within the lab.
- Collaborate closely with production personnel regarding sanitation, hygiene, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and necessary training.
- Responsible for training operators on updates to the Food Safety & Quality system as communicated by management.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and within designated timelines.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by management.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the food sector.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree or Diploma in Microbiology or Food Science.
- Familiarity with microbiological techniques and sterilization methods.
- Understanding of HACCP, GMPs, allergens, and food safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Possession of personal transportation and availability to work weekends.
