Position: Day Camp Support Staff

The Ville de Saguenay is seeking dedicated Day Camp Support Staff to assist in the integration of youth into group activities and foster their social development. As a support staff member, you will work alongside the camp's leader or animator to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere throughout various camp events.

  • Facilitate and encourage participation of youth in camp programs
  • Ensure the safety and special attention of the children in your care
  • Inspire and engage the group of young participants
  • Address and manage any challenges that arise effectively
  • Support the enhancement of social skills among participants
  • Communicate with guardians regarding daily activities
  • Maintain comprehensive records of interactions and follow up with camp personnel
  • Collaborate closely with the lead for specific client groups
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary

Qualifications:

  • A degree in one of the following fields is required: Leisure Intervention Techniques, Early Childhood Education, Special Education, School and Social Adaptation, Leisure, Culture and Tourism, Psychology, or Social Work
  • Relevant training or experience may also be taken into account

Employment Conditions:

  • Completion of the DAFA certification program (33 hours) is necessary

Work Schedule:

  • Commitment for an 8-week period
