About the Role

CIMA+ is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our energy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of high-power switchgears and controlgears for hydropower plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design electrical power systems and their layout for various hydropower plant projects, including diagrams and drawings for switchgear and controlgear.
  • Project Deliverables: Prepare project deliverables, such as drawings (top view, elevation), including detailed drawings, various layouts, diagrams, etc.
  • Equipment Sizing and Selection: Perform or validate calculations for equipment sizing, selection of power cable gauges, etc.
  • Material Selection and Quantities: Select material and calculate quantities.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate electrical work with other engineering disciplines, such as structural, civil, control and protection, auxiliary mechanics, heavy mechanics, building and architecture.
Requirements
  • Education: University Degree in Electrical engineering
  • Professional Certifications: Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Experience: More than ten (10) years of experience
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the standards established by Hydro-Québec or other public utility (an asset), knowledge of power distribution - methods, practices and tools used in the design of power systems, practical knowledge of design software (AutoCAD and others), fluency in oral and written French, proficiency in English, knowledge of applicable design standards and codes, including the Quebec Electrical Code, resourcefulness, motivation, enthusiasm, and strong will to deliver successful projects.
