Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our team in the IOOF Short Term Transitional Care Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to select Alternate Level of Care (ALC) patients.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, and managing the care of ALC patients and their families in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and plan patient care in accordance with hospital and department policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage the care of ALC patients and their families.
  • Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and well-being.
Requirements:
  • Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or equivalent education to practice at full scope.
  • Completion of recognized Medication Administration Course.
  • Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current BCLS.
  • Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession.
  • Membership in professional association specific to nursing service area.
  • Functions independently within scope of practice.
  • Computer literacy in current software applications.
