Job Title: Nutritionist

Calgary Co-op is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Nutritionist to provide science-based nutritional information to members and work closely with stakeholders to create whole health solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide science-based dietary guidance and nutritional education to members through personal consultations, store tours, and in-store seminars.
  • Facilitate in-store seminars and product demonstrations on various health and nutrition topics.
  • Champion community collaborations that support Whole Health Initiatives and science-based health and wellness efforts.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising to support Whole Health Initiatives that reflect consumer preferences and trends.
  • Assist members in understanding nutrition labels and provide education through in-store materials and websites.
  • Conduct assessments of members' nutritional status and requirements.
  • Develop nutritional care plans and provide nutrition education and counseling.
  • Work with members, families, and communities to promote good health and wellness.
  • Conduct food and nutrition research to promote evidence-based practice and service.
  • Collect payments and provide leadership as a Subject Matter Expert for Whole Health Solutions.
  • Participate in the development of yearly competency performance work plans and ensure a safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary degree or postgraduate qualification in human nutrition.
  • Excellent business acumen and customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders.
  • Strong computer skills and time management abilities.
  • Ability to problem solve and network for job efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and influencing skills.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work retail hours.
