Lead Specialist, Quality Assurance Systems

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Lead Specialist in Quality Assurance Systems to oversee the operational integrity of our fleet management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Senior Manager of Quality Assurance, you will manage all facets of the Quality Program, ensuring compliance with maintenance standards and regulatory requirements.
- You will coordinate the Safety Management System (SMS) in alignment with established Aircraft Maintenance Organization (AMO) protocols.
- As the SMS Coordinator, you will serve as the primary authority on aviation safety, facilitating the SMS program and ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are updated on significant safety-related events.
Quality Assurance Duties:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive Quality Assurance Program.
- Advise on modifications and the issuance of the Maintenance Control Document.
- Oversee the approval process for all documentation related to Quality Assurance.
- Monitor the issuance and management of Aircraft Certification Authorities (ACA) and ensure compliance with Work Performed (WP) and Receiving Inspection (RI) certification protocols.
- Provide training guidance to management and ensure training records are maintained according to the Maintenance Control Document.
- Support the QA department in conducting thorough audits of the AMO and Accredited Technical Organization (ATO).
Organizational Responsibilities:
- Ensure aircraft records and historical data are preserved in accordance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Manage the Quality Assurance, Safety Management System, and Flight Safety programs in compliance with relevant documentation.
Safety Management System Responsibilities:
- Organize and document Safety Management System Committee meetings.
- Promote awareness of the Safety Management System across the organization.
- Notify personnel of potential hazards and recommend avoidance strategies through various communication channels.
- Assist in the development and tracking of annual safety goals.
- Investigate safety incidents to identify root causes and propose preventive measures.
- Document corrective actions in the Corrective Action Report (CAR) database and monitor their effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in aeronautics or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of five years in Aircraft Maintenance.
- Extensive knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations and Safety Management Systems.
- Familiarity with airworthiness standards, including Transport Canada and Canadian Air Force regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service.
- Experience in quality control or airworthiness within the aviation sector.
- Effective planning and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of SAP and problem-solving methodologies is an asset.
- Bilingualism in French and English is preferred.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must meet the criteria for registration with the Controlled Goods Program.
- Must be eligible for government security clearance.
- For on-site roles, reliable transportation is necessary.
