About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Home Support Worker to join our team at Spectrum Health Care. As a Home Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our patients in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting, under the direction of a Home Support Supervisor.
  • Assist patients with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and other tasks to promote independence and comfort.
  • Provide respite care for patients while their primary caregivers are out of the home.
  • Maintain awareness of patients' abilities, medical conditions, and personal needs to provide tailored care and support.
  • Travel within assigned regions to provide care and support to patients in their homes.

Requirements

  • Supportive Care Worker Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, or completion of Term 1 of a PSW program.
  • Valid Vulnerable Sector Police Check and TB Test (within 6 months) as a condition of employment.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
  • Effective English communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to interact with others in a caring, tactful, and courteous manner.
