About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at The Government of Nova Scotia. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of Nova Scotians by providing expert advice and guidance on mechanical engineering matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on mechanical engineering matters, including reviews, assessments, and recommendations.
  • Lead departmental activities to ensure a continuous improvement cycle, promoting ongoing program evaluation and improvements.
  • Develop and implement technical education and outreach programs to enhance the health and safety of Nova Scotians.
  • Provide leadership as a subject matter expert to enhance, develop, and implement regulations and enforceable standards.
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and extensive work-related engineer experience (minimum 6 years) including work with occupational health and safety practices and standards. You must also have a current membership or be eligible to register as a Professional Engineer with Engineers Nova Scotia.
