We are currently seeking a Principal Engineer to oversee our roads and highways initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of engineering projects that have a lasting impact on our communities.

Position Overview:

The Principal Engineer will be responsible for integrating various engineering disciplines, project scheduling, procurement, construction, and startup processes for assigned projects. You will lead specific tasks within larger projects, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and maintaining technical excellence throughout.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define project scope, establish schedules, and manage budgets for engineering tasks while monitoring progress to adhere to project timelines and financial constraints.
  2. Document changes in project scope and assist in developing procurement schedules and budgets for project components.
  3. Collaborate with procurement and subcontracting teams to streamline the bidding process.
  4. Coordinate interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective collaboration among Project Engineers.
  5. Support the Project Manager in overseeing technical, financial, and administrative aspects of projects.
  6. Ensure that all engineering disciplines meet client requirements and project specifications.
  7. Prepare comprehensive technical reports and documentation for stakeholders.
  8. Undertake additional responsibilities as necessary to fulfill project needs.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  2. A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in roads and highways engineering or a comprehensive engineering background.
  3. Professional registration with the appropriate engineering body.
  4. Demonstrated potential for leadership in engineering projects.
  5. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  7. Proficient in current engineering technologies and software applications.
  8. Experience with municipal projects is highly desirable.
