Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Early Childhood Instructor to join our team at Our Lady Queen of Peace Montessori School. This is a permanent position offering a full-time schedule of 30 to 44 hours per week.

Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide care for infants and toddlers, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Design and implement educational programs that foster the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth of children.
  • Support fellow educators in executing programs aimed at child development.
  • Lead engaging activities such as storytelling, singing, and excursions to local attractions.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of children's progress.
  • Encourage creative expression through various media including art, music, and dramatic play.
  • Guide children in developing healthy habits related to eating, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Prepare nutritious snacks and organize spaces for meals and rest.
  • Monitor children for any signs of developmental or behavioral concerns and communicate findings with parents and supervisors.
  • Participate in staff meetings to discuss children's progress and challenges.
  • Establish and uphold behavior guidelines and collaborative relationships with colleagues and community service providers.
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment that prioritizes the health and well-being of children.
  • Plan and facilitate activities for school-age children during before and after school programs.
Qualifications
  • Certification as a Child Development Assistant (ECE level 1) or Child Development Worker (ECE level 2).
  • Current certification in Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR.
  • Completion of Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Training.
  • Membership in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) is preferred.
  • Possession of an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
  • Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate is an asset.
Safety and Security
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check.
  • Child Abuse Registry Check and Immunization Records are required.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check is mandatory.
