Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Manager, Business Continuity & Emergency Response Planning to join our team. As a key member of our Transportation and Economic Corridors ministry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the continuity of our operations and responding to emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of business continuity plans to ensure the ministry's operations are resilient and adaptable to disruptions.
  • Coordinate emergency response efforts, including incident command, to ensure a swift and effective response to crises.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, and develop strategies to prevent or minimize disruptions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners, including federal and provincial agencies, to ensure seamless coordination and support during emergencies.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to ministry staff on business continuity and emergency response procedures.

Requirements

  • University Degree in a related field, such as Disaster & Emergency Management, Emergency Management, or Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressively related work experience in business continuity planning or emergency management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Incident Command System Level 300 certification.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Experience designing, facilitating, exercising, and implementing various plans, including Consequence Management, Business Continuity, Security, Facility Emergency Response Plans, and Crisis Management/Communication.
