The Accounting Clerk plays a crucial role in the Financial Services department, reporting directly to the Assistant Manager – Accounts Receivable. This position is tasked with executing assigned accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy of information within the accounting subsystems.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will:
- Serve as the initial point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries and providing assistance.
- Uphold the principles and practices that guide the organization, including its vision, mission, values, and commitment to quality and safety.
- Contribute to a collaborative environment that fosters interprofessional teamwork.

- A diploma from a two-year post-secondary accounting program, along with a minimum of one year of relevant experience in a computerized accounting environment within the last five years.
- Preferred experience in Accounts Receivable.
- Familiarity with Meditech, STAR, and SAP is advantageous.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is beneficial.
- Proficiency in MS Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software.
- Strong ability to work independently while managing multiple interruptions, ensuring high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Competence in using general office equipment.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Demonstrated accountability and sound judgment in decision-making.
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of safety and ethical practices.
- Physical capability to perform the duties required of the position.
- Willingness to travel to various sites as necessary.
- Competencies in additional languages are considered an asset, with French being preferred.
This is a long-term, full-time position requiring 70 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly wage for this position is $27.53. Successful candidates may have access to a comprehensive benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance, along with a defined benefit pension plan.
