Job Opportunity: Chief of Police

The City of Estevan is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to serve as its Chief of Police. As the head of the Estevan Police Service, you will be responsible for guiding the force through a period of rapid growth and development in the city.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a high-quality team of officers and staff to provide excellent policing services to the community.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address the challenges of rapid growth and urbanization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Police Board, Association, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with other government agencies and community groups.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to officers and staff to promote a culture of excellence and professionalism.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Administration or other formalized management and administrative training.
  • 10 years of progressive management and leadership experience in law enforcement or a related field.
  • Experience working with a volunteer board and dealing with the media.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced leadership, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer software and technology.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with community-based policing.
