You will be an integral part of the Data Engineering division, which focuses on equipping engineers, analysts, and data scientists with the necessary tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making and enhance feature development. We are seeking a Data Engineer who is enthusiastic about exploring data infrastructure, developing and refining data pipelines, and thriving in a product-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and product managers to design and improve our existing architecture, enhancing the reliability and performance of our data systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and scale our ETL pipelines to support data science and analytical requirements.
  • Design, construct, and manage data infrastructure systems, including but not limited to AWS DMS, HBase, EMR, Redshift, S3, Kafka, and Airflow, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Create new tools, services, and platforms using Python.
  • Investigate emerging technologies to address future data infrastructure challenges.
  • Promote the adoption of innovative tools within the data engineering team.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering.
  • Proficient in writing high-quality code in Python and PySpark.
  • Strong grasp of database fundamentals.
  • In-depth knowledge of two or more of the following technologies: Spark, Airflow, AWS EMR, AWS Glue, Sagemaker, and Redshift.
  • Experience with batch processing and streaming systems.
  • Familiarity with Kafka or other queuing technologies is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and quantitative skills.
  • A commitment to contributing to the broader development community.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Interest in security and data governance.
  • Experience with dbt and Looker.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes.
