Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Technician Trainee who will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper installation and maintenance of heavy machinery. This position involves visiting client facilities and representing the company with professionalism and respect. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing installations and infrastructure
  • Enhance mechanical systems
  • Fabricate components as necessary
  • Diagnose and resolve breakdowns in production equipment
  • Install and commission new equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including equipment modifications and retrofitting
  • Complete and maintain records for work and purchase order tracking
  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as required
  • Develop and implement a predictive maintenance strategy
  • Adhere to safe work practices and health and safety regulations
  • Be prepared for overtime, work outside of regular hours, and on-call duties as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Millwright License or aspiring to obtain one
  • Previous experience or education in Millwrighting is a significant advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to following all safety protocols
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (hard hats, steel-toed boots, safety glasses, harnesses, etc.)
  • Familiarity with safe operating procedures for equipment in the workshop or job site
  • Must not operate equipment without proper licensing
  • Accurate completion of time sheets, seeking assistance from supervisors when necessary
  • Proactive attitude with a focus on overcoming obstacles
  • Team-oriented mindset, valuing collective success over individual ego
  • Ability to identify potential issues and provide constructive feedback
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and conditions, with a quick understanding of new information
  • Clear and direct communicator in both oral and written formats
