Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated industrial machinery and systems
  • Test and troubleshoot new processes and equipment
  • Install retrofits to existing systems and diagnose hardware, software, and instrument problems
  • Support start-up activities and ensure smooth operation of production lines
  • Develop and maintain automation processes and procedures
  • Oversee testing procedures, write reports, and ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations
  • Provide 24/7 support for automation-related issues
  • Install, diagnose, and repair programmable logic controllers and other devices that operate automated equipment
  • Program, implement, and troubleshoot PLCs, robots, and HMI systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production and support equipment
  • Repair and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Assist in maintaining programming software, application files, and programming hardware
  • Contribute to improving equipment reliability and uptime related to automation and controls
  • Implement Continuous Improvement Ideas related to automation and robotics as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift 60lbs
  • Manual dexterity
  • Overtime as required
  • Industrial workplace with required PPE
  • Support for 3-shift operation (days, afternoons, midnights)

Requirements

  • Graduate of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology (Robot and Automation Program) or Completion of a 2-year degree or technical certificate program
  • Manufacturing experience and strong technical knowledge in programming, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of equipment
  • Knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens), Robotics (Nachi, ABB, Fanuc), HMI programming, Vision Systems (Cognex, Keyence, Omron)
  • Superior analytical capabilities
  • Problem-solving and decision-making
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
