Job Opportunity:

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance is seeking a skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our IT team in Toronto. As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for understanding business requirements and system processing implications from our Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business partners to elicit requirements through interviews, documentation analysis, and workshops.
  • Develop business requirement documentation, use cases, and workflow diagrams to organize information and present it to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings with business and technology teams to coordinate efforts and gather requirements.
  • Work with geographically dispersed teams to deliver projects that meet business customer expectations.
  • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and escalate issues/risks in a timely manner.
  • Engage in testing plans, document, and triage issues to ensure project success.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5-6 years of experience in a Business Systems Analyst capacity, supporting multiple projects/initiatives.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience working in the Insurance domain.
  • Experience in Commercial Insurance domain and ISO admitted lines is a plus.
  • Experience working with Insurance policy platforms, relational databases, and data analysis is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse groups.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
