Position Overview:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESCUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT
- Formulate, articulate, and execute a comprehensive governance and control framework tailored to the specific business function, ensuring alignment with the overarching business objectives.
- Coordinate and strategize activities necessitating collaboration across various departments.
- Steer the execution of regulatory change management while guiding the team in the development and integrated application of policies and procedures across diverse business areas.
- Establish partnerships with management and relevant teams, maintaining awareness of industry trends, identifying potential issues, and proposing solutions to senior leadership.
- Guarantee that all administrative, control, and compliance tasks are conducted accurately to meet performance targets.
- Provide a consolidated view of all associated business risks and control measures, offering escalations, recommendations, and decision-making support to leadership.
- Anticipate program demands and manage the prioritization of initiatives in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Deliver functional communications to ensure consistency and alignment with business risk strategies and executive directives.
- Guide complex, cross-functional projects as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and engage in the design, testing, and implementation of solutions.
SHAREHOLDER RELATIONS
- Collaborate with senior management to craft a business strategy that optimizes resource utilization and leverages TD's operational model for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
- Facilitate interactions and relationships with corporate and control functions to ensure compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.
- Identify and escalate key issues to the appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders as necessary.
- Assess, mitigate, and report on risk issues in accordance with enterprise policies, ensuring proper escalation protocols are followed.
- Ensure that business operations adhere to applicable requirements, including financial controls and asset management.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives as a SME, aiding in risk identification and providing guidance for complex scenarios.
- Oversee the risk identification and monitoring processes, ensuring that key controls and compliance measures are effectively managed.
- Lead the implementation of action plans to address performance, risk, and governance challenges.
- Safeguard the organization's interests by identifying and managing risks, escalating high-risk transactions as needed.
- Foster a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes aligned with risk appetite.
TEAM LEADERSHIP
- Oversee the overall team management, providing leadership, guidance, and expertise while ensuring adherence to enterprise frameworks.
- Support the team in staying informed about emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements, assessing their potential impacts.
- Lead a high-performing team, providing ongoing feedback, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring compliance with performance management protocols.
- Facilitate the process of setting performance objectives for the team, monitoring progress, and addressing performance issues promptly.
- Manage team members in accordance with human resources policies and conduct guidelines.
- Encourage an environment where team members can freely discuss business challenges and promote positive reinforcement of achievements.

- Offer coaching and mentorship to practitioners and executives within the area of expertise.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team in managing the function, leveraging deep industry knowledge to identify operational efficiencies.
- Set operational direction for the team and collaborate with others to achieve shared objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree preferred.
- Extensive industry knowledge and expertise in risk and control functions.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Forward Deploy Resources.
- Act as a trusted advisor on third-party risks and controls for the supported business segment.
- Advise and manage relationships regarding pre-contract and post-contract activities.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize remediation of third-party risk and control gaps.
- Accountable for third-party risk reporting and monitoring.
- Collaborate with partners to enable informed decision-making aligned with risk tolerance.
- Work with cybersecurity teams to address third-party incidents.
- Partner with various teams to enhance the control environment.
