Job Summary

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is seeking a part-time High School Math and Science Teacher to join our team. As a Teacher, you will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach, providing personalized instruction and guidance to help them succeed in math and science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach math and science to students at different levels
  • Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post-lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus, and Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Must-have: Experience up to Grade 11 academic math is absolutely necessary
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Grade 12 Advanced Functions & Calculus
  • Must-have: Ability and willingness to teach Grade 9/10 science
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Grade 11 sciences (Bio/Chem/Physics)
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
