Department Summary:
The 4J Surgical Spine Unit is dedicated to offering acute care for patients undergoing spinal surgeries. Our team comprises a diverse group of healthcare professionals committed to delivering exceptional, patient-focused care.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing services to surgical patients, including IV therapy, pain management, and wound care.
- Conduct thorough nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Employ clinical judgment to make informed decisions and assess care outcomes.
- Mentor and support new staff and students in their professional development.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional growth.
- Contribute to program planning and quality improvement initiatives.
Essential Qualifications:
- Previous experience in surgical nursing or a strong interest in Neurosciences is preferred.
- Must hold current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- BCLS certification is required.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing inter-professional team.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Neuroscience Nursing Certificate is an asset or a commitment to obtain within one year of employment.
- A positive attendance and work record is essential.
