Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, we are in search of a seasoned and results-oriented Master Production Scheduler. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting production schedules for the manufacturing and assembly of components or merchandising displays. This position offers a significant opportunity for individuals with a solid background in Production Planning within a manufacturing context, allowing you to contribute to a growing global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analysis: You will assess production specifications and departmental capacity data, performing calculations to identify manufacturing processes, machinery, and resource requirements. You will analyze capacity schedules and seek necessary approvals for outsourced work based on your findings.
  • Leadership: You will facilitate daily and weekly production meetings with the production and material planning teams to ensure timely delivery. Your role includes maintaining an accurate Master Production Schedule that reflects correct shipping quantities.
  • Master Production Schedule Development: You will:
    • Create a master production schedule in weekly increments, establishing the sequence and lead time for operations to meet shipping deadlines based on sales forecasts and customer orders.
    • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and PPC to align schedules and initiate planning activities.
    • Support procurement in arranging material transportation and maintain communication regarding subcontracted work.
  • Accuracy: You will:
    • Input calculated times for each operation based on estimated hours.
    • Work with the Production Manager and Engineering teams to ensure BOMs are updated with the latest information.
    • Provide timely and accurate data for departmental KPIs.
    • Address quality and productivity issues that may impact production timelines.
    • Monitor schedule adherence and report deviations along with recovery plans.
  • Continuous Improvement: You will collaborate with various teams to expedite urgent orders and ensure timely product shipments, while actively participating in safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: A diploma or degree in a relevant field, along with experience in a Lean manufacturing environment and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to tackle practical challenges and interpret instructions in various formats, with strong analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication abilities to build relationships internally and with clients, comfortable presenting ideas to senior management.
