About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and physically fit Farm Labourer to join our team at George Durocher and Sons Inc. as a Grain Farm Hand. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the harvesting and management of our grain crops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the harvesting of grain crops, including cleaning, cutting, and loading
  • Manage crop growth and health, including weeding and pest control
  • Grade and pack produce for market
  • Load and unload crates, supplies, and farm produce
  • Perform other tasks as required to ensure the smooth operation of the farm
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license and own transportation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads
  • Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors
  • Team player with a quick learning ability
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a rural area, with a remote location and various work sites. The work environment will be outdoors, with exposure to wet/damp, dusty, hot, and cold conditions.

  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, and sitting
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Walking and handling heavy loads

The successful candidate will be required to handle weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
