About the Role

PUC Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Electric System Operator to join our team. As an Electric System Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our electrical grid.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate emergency power restoration activities and provide guidance to field staff to minimize outage scope and duration.
  • Administer and maintain the electric SCADA System, identifying system loading and temporary load transfers.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOP's) to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date schematics, prints, and records.
  • Perform shift work rotation as required.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary diploma in an Electrical Technology field or MEA Journeyperson Certification as a Powerline Technician or Substation Electrician.
  • MEA Electric Operator Certification.
  • Strong leadership skills for coordination of technical staff.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of related legislation, codes, standards, and practices.
  • Ability to operate computerized systems.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license.
