Job Title: Sample Preparation Technician

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Sample Preparation Technician to join our team at SGS Canada.

Job Summary:

The Sample Preparation Technician will be responsible for preparing and processing samples for analysis, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with quality control procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sample Preparation: Sort and log client samples, perform preliminary sample preparation, and ensure proper archiving and disposal.
  • Laboratory Maintenance: Monitor refrigerator temperatures, organize refrigerators, and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Quality Control: Assist in updating MSDS and Certificate of Analysis binders, maintain standards inventory, and comply with quality procedures and policies.
  • Communication: Assist laboratory technicians as required, perform assigned laboratory techniques, and conduct minor maintenance or repair of equipment.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a high school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
  • A post-secondary education (degree and/or diploma) in a Science related program (Chemistry, Biochemistry) is a strong asset.
  • Must be comfortable with numerals in order to monitor data on a computer screen.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
