Job Title: Truck Dispatcher

At Brisk Transport Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Truck Dispatcher to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of vehicle operators and crews, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate work records and logs to track shipments and personnel activities.
  • Monitor personnel workloads and locations to optimize dispatching and minimize delays.
  • Perform general office duties, including data entry and communication with customers and drivers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Advise vehicle operators of traffic and other problems to ensure safe and efficient transportation.
  • Assist with maintenance of communications equipment and dispatching software.
  • Dispatch personnel according to schedules and work orders, adapting to changing circumstances as needed.
  • Follow up on issues with work orders to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Keep track of shipments, including mileage, fuel use, repairs, and other expenses.
  • Knowledge of cross-border dispatching regulations and practices is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations is also required.
  • Process and transmit information and instructions to coordinate the activities of vehicle operators and crews using dispatching equipment.
  • Record mileage, fuel use, repairs, and other expenses to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Schedule assignments and coordinate activities of vehicle operators, crews, and equipment to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Contact customers to deliver requested wake-up calls and provide updates on shipment status.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of dispatch management service software and monitoring and tracking software.
  • Ability to operate GPS and other navigation equipment.
  • MS Windows proficiency.
  • Experience in trucking or a related field is an asset.
Work Environment:
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with 16-20 people.
  • Ability to work in a computer-based environment with MS Windows and other software.
Language:
  • English is the primary language of communication.
Work Schedule:
  • 40 hours per week, with overtime required as needed.
