About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Marshall Canada. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex projects from initiation to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Leadership: Provide project engineering leadership to deliver safe, cost-effective, compliant solutions to contracted requirements, team performance, schedule, and budget through internal resources and external subcontractors.
  2. Technical Authority: Be the technical authority for assigned solutions, ensuring that all technical aspects of the project are properly managed and executed.
  3. Customer and Subcontractor Interactions: Lead customer and subcontractor interactions on assigned solutions, including the execution of design reviews across the full engineering lifecycle of the project.
  4. Sub-Contract Relationship Management: Manage sub-contract relationships, technical specifications, and ensure sub-contractor performance.
  5. Scope Delivery: Ensure clear delivery of scope between internal and external teams and manage interfaces.
  6. Technical Documentation: Prepare, review, and approve technical documentation against contract delivery requirements to ensure customer acceptance.
  7. Change Management: Manage change for the assigned scope throughout the project lifecycle.
  8. Work Package Management: Define work packages and tasking documentation, including design approaches, budget, test schedules, and timescales to support program schedule for delivery.
  9. Requirements Management: Manage requirements through the lifecycle of the project, including requirements acceptance, change, and trade-off as required.
  10. Project Status Reporting: Provide input to project status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  11. Systems Engineering: Ensure pragmatic and best-practice Systems Engineering techniques are adopted through development to acceptance.
  12. Standards and Processes: Work to standards, processes, and procedures to ensure rigor, resilience, and continuous improvement.
  13. Verification and Validation: Manage the progressive signoff of requirements with the customer through the provision of verification evidence.
  14. Presentation and Communication: Produce presentation packs and present evidence in formal development gate reviews.
  15. Resource Management: Track and manage the Estimate to Complete metrics and ensure that resource is provisioned.
  16. Company Values and Procedures: Promote and uphold the company values and procedures.
  17. Health, Safety, and Environmental: Promote and adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental best practice.
Requirements
  1. Education: Hold an applicable engineering degree (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace, etc.) from an accredited university or have equivalent knowledge gained through other forms of education or training.
  2. Professional Designation: Hold Professional Engineer designation (P. Eng.) or have the ability to become registered.
  3. Experience: 8+ years of applicable experience; defense industry experience considered an asset.
  4. Commercial Acumen: Commercial acumen including a focus on the future, thinking ahead, and thriving in change.
  5. Communication and Influencing: Demonstrated effectiveness in managing complex working relations and influencing internal and external stakeholders at the senior level.
  6. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to influence others using information and a variety of data sources.
  7. Project Delivery: Proven track record of successful delivery of complex projects with strong initiative, enthusiasm, and drive. High sense of commitment and accountability.
  8. Engineering Solutions: Development of engineering solutions through the Systems Engineering lifecycle.
  9. Quality Assurance: Demonstrate knowledge and experience developing and managing personnel, tasks, and information in an ISO 9001:2015 Quality Assurance environment.
  10. Language Skills: Ability to communicate and write clear technical and business reports in English; proficiency in French is an asset.
  11. Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications.
  12. Travel: Available for occasional travel – both domestically and internationally to meet Customers and Subcontractors.
  13. Export Control: Must be eligible to meet the requirements of export control regulations, including the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and Canadian government security requirements.
