Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Established over 30 years ago, North 49 Foods is a family-owned business specializing in meat products with offices in British Columbia, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the overall health of our plant stays healthy, on budget, and compliant with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an effective maintenance workforce through proper hiring and development of staff.
  • Ensure maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to accomplish maintenance programs in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Communicate regularly with maintenance technicians to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues.
  • Regularly communicate with the QA Department to ensure effective participation by the maintenance department in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.
  • Participate in objective setting, plan development, and performance review of plant performance.
  • Establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for inventory equipment, tracking work orders, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
  • Purchasing, inventory management, and budgeting.
  • Utilize the CMMS to manage parts inventory, spending, and work orders.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.
  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
  • Ensures occupational health/safety, environmental policies, and procedures are followed by staff.
  • Ensures city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met at all times.
  • Directs, maintains, and enforces the safety program for the maintenance department.
Requirements
  • Holds an Electrical or Millwright ticket.
  • ~5 or more years of experience in a Maintenance role.
  • ~Food or Meat Processing Industry experience appreciated.
  • ~Degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering appreciated.
  • ~Excellent Microsoft Office skills (In particular: Excel, PowerPoint).
