About the Role

Mehraz Building Dreams Inc. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, applying successive coats of compound, and ensuring a smooth finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Finishing: Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
  • Compound Application: Apply successive coats of compound to seams and joints, and sand to a smooth finish.
  • Surface Preparation: Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering and finishing.
  • Plastering and Finishing: Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency, apply to surfaces, and smooth out excess compound.
  • Decorative Finishing: Create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Acoustic and Texture Installation: Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings.
  • Joint Taping and Embedding: Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
  • Installation of Ceiling Systems: Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath.
  • Insulation and Barrier Installation: Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation.
Work Environment and Conditions
  • Work at Heights: Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and standing for extended periods.
  • Work Conditions: Repetitive tasks, tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
