It has the historical distinction of having established Canada's first women's shelter in 1968. For nearly 60 years, Street Haven has been making an impact in the lives of thousands of women. Services Offered

Today, Street Haven oversees:

  1. A 30-bed emergency shelter
  2. A 50-bed hotel shelter
  3. 32 supportive housing units

Street Haven also offers:

  • Academic upgrading and pre-employment services
  • Addiction services including a three-month in-residence intensive treatment program

Job Opportunity: Director of Operations

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Operations will be a hands-on, and strategic leader. Responsibilities include leading and overseeing Finance, Human Resources, Facility Operations (kitchen and cleaning services), and Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT). The successful candidate will be an inclusive leader with exceptional communications ability, innovative systems thinking, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Operations will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing operational strategies to drive business growth and improvement
  • Leading and managing cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives
  • Overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and reporting
  • Managing facility operations, including kitchen and cleaning services
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in talent management/development
  • Operational monitoring and reporting skills
  • Financial processing expertise
  • Contract and data management experience

Additionally, the candidate should have demonstrated experience in a complex non-profit or public-facing environment, possess impeccable ethics, and a passion for operational improvement.
